About
Nick Linville has been a Historian since 2005. He established Linville Historical Consulting (LHC) to share his unique and diverse experience in the field of history with those who require the services of a professional.
Nick has worked with terrestrial archaeologists, maritime archaeologists, and architectural historians on projects large and small across the nation, providing historical research and writing for clients in the transportation, energy, government, and defense sectors. He continues this work in the present, focusing on projects that aim to preserve historic places.
His work has explored colonial-era shipwrecks, Southern plantations, historic homesteads, Civil War earthworks, Cold War missile sites, and African American history. His clients include the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Freedman Arts District (Beaufort, SC), the City of Statesville (NC), the City of Charlotte (NC), and cultural resource management firms.
Nick attended the University of Florida where he received a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Arts in History. His work has won historic preservation awards in Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, and Hawaii.
